Process of implementation
This comprehensive modernization project focused on upgrading automation systems, power distribution, and telecommunications at the Machukha GPP. We replaced outdated control panels with cutting-edge APCS (Automated Process Control Systems) and implemented a digital SCADA network for real-time data acquisition. The power supply system was also reinforced with redundant transformers and protective relays, while the telecommunication framework was upgraded for faster, more secure data transmission. After thorough integration testing and operator training, the facility was handed over with improved safety and higher operational throughput.
Overcoming challenges
A major obstacle was ensuring minimal production downtime during the switchover to new automation systems. Our team developed a staged migration plan, enabling partial operation while certain sections underwent upgrades. Additionally, the older infrastructure required custom adaptations to accommodate modern control technologies. By carefully mapping existing networks and employing modular design principles, we successfully integrated all new components without disrupting critical processes, thereby significantly enhancing plant reliability and output.
